As a dentist, Dr. Remal Patel has the opportunity to improve people’s lives by eliminating pain and discomfort, improving their health, and brightening their smiles. He understands that a trip to the dentist may cause anxiety for some patients, and he will do his very best to provide care as gently and as pain-free as possible.

Dr. James Barnum, DMD, is the most recent addition to Port Dental Care, having moved to North Port, Florida from Oregon. His initial exposure to dentistry was when he was trained as a dental technician by his father. The two worked together for nearly 10 years. After graduating from Portland State University with a general science degree, he then graduated from Oregon Health Science University in 2008 and has owned several practices in Oregon before relocating to Florida. Dr. Barnum enjoys spending time with his wife and five children! He has been captivated by Florida’s gardening opportunities, fishing and beach-fun. Other hobbies/interests include playing the Guitar, Bass Guitar, Trumpet, and other instruments including voice!
